Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania which comprises 17,508 islands with an estimated population of around 237 million people. It is the world's fourth most populous country and has the largest Muslim population in the world.
Indonesia is a republic country. The Republic of Indonesia is led by a president who is elected once in five years through a democratic election. To balance the power of the presidents, there are elected legislatures. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
